Jameela Jamil is a TV presenter of Indian descent, hailing all the way from the U.K. She’s still pretty much an unknown face here in America, but with her exotic looks and upbeat personality, it looks like she’s on her way to becoming the next Alexa Chung.
This former model and English language teacher has been taking over the British airwaves since last year. After auditioning on a whim, she landed hosting gigs on both Britain’s Freshly Squeezed and the early morning show T4.
Her humorous interviews with A-list celebrities and fun-filled presenting techniques have gained her a huge fan following in her home country. But this girl has more than just an endless amount of funny bones; she’s got a distinct sense of style that’s part vintage, part rock and roll, and part Old Hollywood glam.
Whether she’s hosting on the small screen, or hitting up one of London’s many late night shindigs, Jameela can usually be found with siren red lips, and a thick swipe of liner on her upper lashes.
Her glamorous beauty look is offset with a penchant for retro cut-off short shorts, girly girl sweetheart dresses, and colorful high heels. She’s not afraid to mix 80’s neon florals with a distressed leather motorcycle jacket, or a classic little black dress with turquoise suede heels. The sky's the limit when it comes to Jameela's eclectic fashion combinations.
Jameela also doesn’t believe that you have to wear all designer to look like a superstar. Most of her clothes are from high street shops like Topshop, Urban Outfitters, and shoe store Office, but she makes them look like pieces straight off the runway.
And like her style icons Sophia Loren and Brigitte Bardot, two iconic figures known for their voluptuously sexy bodies, Jameela embraces her curves in body-conscious dresses, and isn’t afraid to show off her lengthy stems (she’s 5’10”) with short hemlines.
With her signature eyebrow-grazing fringe and lengthy locks, this girl is the total package when it comes to having both talent and style. Maybe next up on her list of accomplishments is crossing the Atlantic and making a name for herself in America, where we are always open to another fashionable, fast-talking Brit.
